Homeschoolers Train Muay Thai in Indio: Monday and Wednesday Afternoons

October 15, 2026

Mid-October is when the homeschool rhythm finally settles in. The triple digits are behind us, lessons are underway, and by three o’clock plenty of kids in the valley have more energy than the workbook can hold. Halloween is two weeks out, which doesn’t help. The cooler evenings do make the drive over feel easy again.

Several families have asked us the same thing this month: is there a weekday class that gets kids moving, puts them around other kids, and doesn’t feel like a fight club? Youth Muay Thai is our answer, and it lands right as the school day winds down.

Two Afternoon Hours, Monday and Wednesday

Youth Muay Thai for ages 6 to 9 meets Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 6 PM. Ages 10 to 14 follow from 6 to 7 PM. If you have a younger and an older child, the back-to-back hours at 42425 Jackson Street, Suite C112 mean one trip instead of two. That window sits after most lesson plans are done and before dinner, which is why it fits so many homeschool days.

What Your Child Actually Does

Coach Adrian runs it as pad work, footwork and balance, with no sparring. A kid learns a stance, throws a jab at a pad, and gets a correction that’s kind and specific. Shy children often find it easier than they expected, because everyone in the room is learning the same basics at the same time.

Rank in Muay Thai is marked with Pra Jiad, armbands worn on the upper arm instead of belts. It gives a kid something visible to work toward, and it gives you something to point at when a relative asks what they’ve been up to all fall.

For Charter Families

We’re an approved vendor with Mission Vista Academy, Excel Academy and Elite Academic Academy, and families at other charter schools can ask their school about vendor approval. What a particular plan covers is something only your Education Specialist can confirm, so please check with them before you enroll. Our charter school page walks through the steps.

Cost and Getting Started

Muay Thai at Flow Academy Indio is $125, $145 or $165 a month depending on whether you sign for 12 months, 6 months or go month to month, and uniforms aren’t included. Your first class is free, and gloves and wraps are ours to lend for it, so there’s nothing to buy beforehand.

Stop by on a Monday or Wednesday, or call or text (951) 337-3781. You can read about the youth Muay Thai program first, and if a parent wants in too, the adult class meets at 7 PM on those same nights.
